Dan Schrock | Photographer Chicago + Denver

BIO

Born and raised in Chicago-land, I moved downtown at nineteen to attend Columbia College. In 1993, after earning my B.A. in Photography, I acquired a studio in the South Loop area. I have continued to grow my studio, practice the intricacies of lighting, and shoot commercial advertising ever since. I use mixed sources of light to create realism within a photograph, and have an affinity for natural light and how it captures the beauty of an inanimate object.

Recently I’ve been photographing people. Lighting is one thing, but when your subject talks and moves, it adds another exciting dimension to the entire process.

With the advancement of digital photography and some of the conveniences it allows, it’s enabling more and more jobs to take place outside of my studio. I’ve seen many changes in the process of photography in my years of shooting, but my passion and creative energy stay consistent.
